Trio sought, two charged over 'one of Australia's worst organised crime assassinations'

Three suspected underworld crime figures are wanted and two men have been charged over "one of the worst organised crime assassinations" police have seen in Australia.
Salim, 18, and his father Toufik Hamze, 64, both died after shots were allegedly fired into a car they were in Guildford in Sydney on October 20, 2021.
Police today arrested two men over their deaths after storming addresses in Austral and Riverstone.

A 28-year-old man was charged with two counts of murder, knowingly/recklessly direct criminal group assist crime, and participate criminal group contribute criminal at Liverpool Police Station.
He was refused bail and will appear at Liverpool Local Court tomorrow. 
A 29-year-old man, who was transferred from a prison to Goulburn Police Station, was charged with two counts of murder, knowingly/recklessly direct criminal group assist crime and contravene serious crime prevention order.
He was remanded in custody and will also face Goulburn Local Court tomorrow. 
At the same time, police also secured arrest warrants for three men believed to be overseas; Rafat Alameddine, 30, John Ray Bayssari, 33, and Zaid Abdelhafez, 24.
The trio are wanted for two counts of murder.
"The callous murders of father and son, Toufik and Salim Hamze, was one of the worst organised crime assassinations we've seen in Australia, in which an innocent man was caught up in the violence and depravity," state crime commander assistant commissioner Michael Fitzgerald said.

"Now these three men are officially wanted on the charges of murder, we are appealing to them today to come home and face the consequences.
"And as they will be no doubt aware, the arm of the law is far reaching – and there are no safe havens to hide."
Alameddine is described as Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, about 180cm tall with a solid build and dark brown hair, a beard and moustache.
Bayssari is described as Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, about 170cm tall with a solid build and dark brown hair, a beard and moustache.
Abdelhafez is described as Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, about 175cm tall with a thin build and black hair.
Zaid Abdelhafez is wanted over the alleged double murder of Toufik and Salim Hamze.

Four men, aged 18, 20, 23 and 25, have already been charged over their alleged roles in the matter.
Investigations are continuing but Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty said officers were close to solving the alleged double murder.
