The Royal Opera’s Die Walküre will be shown live at Minehead Regal.

The performance will be broadcast from London’s Royal Opera House on Wednesday, May 14, at 5.15pm.

This new production is the second chapter of Wagner’s Ring cycle, continuing the story that began with Das Rheingold in 2023.

The opera, sung in German with English subtitles, has a runtime of 320 minutes, including two intervals.

Tickets cost £15.50, with discounts available for Film Society members, Regal Theatre Friends, students, ES40s and under 14s.

Tickets can be booked in advance online or at the Regal box office between 9.30am and 12pm, Monday to Saturday.

The Regal bar will be open for refreshments from 4.45pm.

The opera is directed by Barrie Kosky and conducted by Antonio Pappano. It features an epic battle between gods and mortals, focusing on the ruler Wotan and his daughter, Brünnhilde.
