An usher at La Scala who shouted
"Free Palestine" when Premier Giorgia Meloni entered the royal
box at a concert on May 4 has been fired, trade union officials
at the iconic Milanese opera house said Thursday.
"The guillotine verdict of the management has arrived against
the young woman of the hall staff who shouted 'Free Palestine'
from the first gallery" reads the note from the Cub Informazione
& Spettacolo of the theatre.
"We will deploy - writes the La Scala union - all the union
actions to defend this courageous girl to whom we extend our
utmost solidarity".
