Strawberry season has begun in Connecticut, and the Department of Agriculture is sharing tips for picking the best berries, officials said.
- Select fully red strawberries, as they won't ripen further after picking
- Pick gently by twisting or pinching the stem with your thumb and index finger to avoid damaging the plant.
- The season is short, so plan visits early and often to local farms.
