UPDATE: Remains found along Delaware River identified as Pennsylvania man

Pennsylvania State Police are trying to identify a deceased man found in the Delaware River.

Trooper Nathan Branosky, spokesman for the Troop M barracks, said authorities recovered the body around 12:30 p.m. May 25 in the vicinity of Slateford Road in Upper Mount Bethel Township in Northampton County, just south of Delaware Water Gap.

The man is being described as either Caucasian or Hispanic; approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall; and he was wearing a red, extra-large Under Armour-brand shirt; size 34X30 Wrangler-brand pants; a brown, braided leather belt with a gold buckle; and size 12 Redwing-brand work boots.

The deceased additionally had three black ink tattoos on his body: “Fox Racing” on his upper right arm; a Native American headdress on upper left arm, similar to the former Washington Redskins NFL Logo; and a religious cross on his inner right forearm with the words “Death” (top), “Before” (center) and “Dishonor” (bottom).

Pennsylvania State Police in Belfast and the Northampton County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate.

Asked if foul play is suspected, Branosky said the cause and manner of death is still being investigator by the Northampton County Coroner’s Office. Zachary Lysek did not immediately return a request for more details Friday afternoon.

Anyone with information pertaining to the identity of the deceased is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Belfast Criminal Investigation Unit at 610-759-6106.
