The Gogue Performing Arts Center recently unveiled its 2025-26 season, which features a number of series, including celebrity, chamber music, concert, dance and movement, family, amphitheatre, and Broadway, in addition to single performances not included in a series package.
The Celebrity Series will include five performances: An Evening with Bruce Hornsby; An Intimate Evening with David Foster & Katharine McPhee; Matthew Morrison; Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis; and Il Divo: By Candlelight with Simply Three.
Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Bruce Hornsby, a celebrated recording artist and collaboratorwith acts like the Grateful Dead and Branford Marsalis, will perform on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.
David Foster and Katherine McPhee are an audience favorite. Their holiday concert will include Foster’s hits from when he worked with Chicago, Celine Dion, Michael Bublé, and more. They will perform on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.
Matthew Morrison, a Tony, Emmy, and Golden Globe nominated actor who can be recognized for his work on Broadway and in television series, including "Glee," has released four studio albums. Morrison will perform on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
“In Rhythms & Revelations, Morrison blends music, dance, and storytelling. It’s an inspirational, feel good event, and it’s a perfect way to start the new year,” said Christopher Heacox, executive director of the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center, at a season announcement event on May 15.
The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will perform Duke in Africa, on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. The performance will feature Duke Ellington staples, such as "Liberian Suite," "Afro Bossa," and "Togo Brava Suite."
“They're the gold standard. They love performing in Auburn. They absolutely love our audiences here, and I know you all love them too, so we cannot wait to have them back for another stellar concert,” Heacox said.
Lastly, Il Divo: By Candlelight with Simply Three, will likely be a hit for those who enjoy opera and classical music. They will perform on Friday, March 6 at 7 p.m.
“They sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and are now embarking on a new world tour, joined by Simply Three. The show traces two decades of romance, partying, enjoying the career of this internationally renowned quartet who weave their greatest musical triumphs into an unforgettable evening,” Heacox said.
The first chamber music performance will be Tessa Lark, a Grammy-nominated violinist, Joshua Roman, a renowned bassist and composer, and Edgar Meyer, a seven-time Grammy Award winner. They will perform on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. in the new studio theater.
Daniella Mack is a mezzo-soprano. Her intense, adventurous, and charismatic performances have enchanted critics around the world. She will perform on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m.
“Her voice has enchanted audiences around the world with recent US engagements, including performances with the Metropolitan Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the San Francisco Opera,” Heacox said.
The final performance of the chamber music series will be the Ariel Quartet. Their performance will be on Thursday, March 5 at 7 p.m.
“The aerial quartet has garnered praise from audiences and critics alike for more than a quarter of a century. Formed when the members were just teenagers, the foursome has performed at leading venues across the globe and are renowned for their interpretations of Beethoven's quartet,” Heacox said.
The Concert Series features three performances with a wide variety of musical genres.
The Soweto Gospel Choir has received Grammy and Emmy award winning accolades since forming in 2002. Their expression of the unique power of African Gospel Music has inspired audiences. They will perform on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.
Joan Osborne and Lisa Loeb are voices of the '90s, and this will be the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough albums.
Lastly, the Sphinx Virtuosi is a self-conducted chamber orchestra who will be performing with Randall Goosby, who is a violinist
The series begins in October with a performance by Parsons Dance on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.
“The Parsons Dance Company is internationally renowned for its bold and innovative ensemble work. They toured to more than 445 cities,” Heacox said.
The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is considered to be one of the most acclaimed dance companies across the world, performing in more than 70 countries. They will make a return performance to the Gogue Center on Tuesday, Feb. 17 and Wednesday, Feb. 18, with both performances at 7 p.m.
“Ailey is the pinnacle of excellence in dance, and we look forward to working with them for many unique seasons to come,” Heacox said.
Lastly, the Ragamala Dance Company includes students of all ages in South Indian arts and cultures. They will perform on Wednesday, March 25 at 7 p.m.
“This powerful and moving performance is an exploration of life as experienced by three characters from the Hindu epic The Mahabharata. It is a visually stunning work with lush imagery and projections,” Hamff said.
Next, Andrea Jarmon, the education coordinator, presented the Family Series.
The series begins in October with the Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia’s production of Billy Goats Gruff and Other Tales. There will be three tales, including Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs, and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. They will perform on Sunday, Oct. 26th at 3 p.m.
“This imaginative retelling seamlessly interweaves classic fairy tales in an engaging comic style,” Jarmon said.
The Cat Kid Comic Club: The Musical will be very animal intensive. They will perform on Sunday, Nov. 9th at 3 p.m.
The third performance will be Stuntboy: In the Meantime, which, according to the Gogue Performing Arts Center website is “based on Jason Reynolds and Raúl the Third’s award-winning graphic novel of the same name.” The performance will be on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m.
The last performance will be Peppa Pig: My First Concert. This performance is recommended for children 18 months and older. They will perform on Sunday, April 19 at 3 p.m.
Next February, there will be an additional two back-to-back performances of Hero: The Boy from Troy.
All family series performance tickets will be $10 each and will be available for purchase in August.
Also at the season announcement event, Heacox presented the lineup for the Amphitheatre Series, which will start in April 2026.
The Little River Band has multi-platinum albums and in the '70s and '80s, and chart-topping hits. They will perform on Friday, April 24 at 7 p.m.
Next, an as yet unannounced country music legend will perform.
“He's charted more than 40 times in the country charts, including five number ones, plus an additional 15 top 10 singles,” Heacox said.
Lastly, Steep Canyon Rangers, who have gained recognition for their last album and Della Mae, a Grammy-nominated all-woman string band, will perform on Thursday, May 21 at 7 p.m.
There will be a variety of add-ons, including Dusty Slay: The Night Shift Tour (Sept. 4), the Gin Blossoms (Sept. 11), MasterChef All-Stars Live! (Sept. 30), and Straight No Chaser Holiday Road (Oct. 30).
For the final series, Broadway, Heacox announced that for the first time ever, three shows will have three night performances, and the fourth show will have four performances.
With a diverse lineup and fantastic collection of musicians and dancers, the Gogue Performing Arts Center’s 2025-26 season promises something for those of all ages.
