Dorcas Ann Ramsburg, 96, of Charles Town, WV passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Dorcas was born March 3, 1929, in Kabletown, WV. She was the daughter of the late Marshall Lee Frye and Fannie Berry Jacobs Frye.
Dorcas retired after 43 years of service with the Bank of Charles Town. Prior she worked for The General Telephone. She worked 12 years with United Bank and was employed part time for the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral since 2004.
She was a 70+ year member of Asbury United Methodist Church where she participated in Volunteer Mission Trips to Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina.
She graduated from Charles Town High School, class of 1947 and attended Shepherd College for some night classes.
She was a member of the United Women at the church, Choir, Youth Fellowship Leader, American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, 4-H Member for 10 years, 4-H Leader, 4-H All Stars, Old Opera House Board, Old Opera House Guild and Sweet Adelines.
She is survived by her son, David G. Ramsburg and Fiancee, Stacey Hutzell, of Charles Town, WV; grandson, Grant David Ramsburg and wife Samantha; great-grandchildren, Paisley Addison Ramsburg, Samuel Grant Ramsburg; nieces, Lisa Thrift, Jackie Etsell, Melanie Edwards and nephews, Thomas L. Frye, Jr., Adam Frye, Eric Frye, Scott Chrisman., Terry Lehman and wife Donna, sister-in-law, Charlotte Ramsburg and nephew, Todd Ramsburg and wife Jane, niece, Gail Magaha and husband Dennis
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Wilbur Glenn Ramsburg; sister, Mary F. Lehman; brothers, Francis Millis Frye, Thomas Lee Frye and George Donald Frye.
The Ramsburg Family would like to send a Special Thank You for Dorcas Care to Hospice of the Panhandle Ladies, Chelsea Maxwell, Shanna Finley, Candace Wisecarver, Heather Pearrell, Chelsea Glascock, Monica Triven, Lindsay Heflin and Caregivers, Analyn Hamilton, Tonia Jenkins, Janet Fellers, Jenny Kuser, Tammy Johnson and Loren Christophel.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2025 at the Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town, WV with The Rev. Duane Jensen officiating.
Interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town, WV.
Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Ranson, WV.
