Tosca Lee, one of the writers who co-authored the 2025 One Book One Nebraska selection, visited the John A. Stahl Library on July 2 to host a Meet the Author event.
The 2025 OBON winner, “The Long March Home”, is a historical fiction novel inspired by true stories tied to World World II and the Bataan Death March. The book’s website describes it as “a gripping coming-of-age tale of friendship, sacrifice, and the power of unrelenting hope.”
Selections must be based in Nebraska or authored by a writer living in Nebraska, and Lee is from Saunders County just south of Fremont. She has been traveling the state this summer to talk about the book she co-authored and connect with Nebraska residents.
Lee visited the library on Wednesday to discuss the book and held a Q-and-A with attendees. She shared how she became an author, talked about her other books and explained the process of writing “The Long March Home” with Marcus Brotherton. Copies of the book were available for sale at the event.
