Kylie Minogue’s ex-fiance Joshua Sasse posted a cryptic quote about “letting go” after the singer spoke out about her heartache over their split.

The British actor shared an Instagram post about nothing being “personal” the same day as Minogue described their engagement as an “experiment”.

Sasse shared a post on his account, which read: “Whatever it is that’s happening to you you have to know, and always remember; IT’S. NOT. PERSONAL.”

He then wrote a lengthy caption to accompany the quote, saying: “None of it is. When your roof is leaking, when you lose your job, when you lose someone in your life - none of it is personal.

“You are a part of the universe like a wave is a part of the ocean. It’s not personal when some of a riverbank is eroded or an oak falls down in a storm.

“That is just the nature of life, ebb & flow. Don’t hold on to it - the minute you let go of trying to control everything, it will all come back to you and then you will realize that none of it matters - and then you can carry on with your life without this weight you’ve had on your back. Let go.”

Sasse and Minogue called off their engagement in February 2017 having dated for more than two years.

In an interview this week, Minogue told Red Magazine: “I never thought I would get married. Just going through ‘being engaged’ seems like an experiment, because I’d never as a girl or in all my life had a vision of getting married.

“It’s not something I needed or wanted. My parents never brought me up with the idea of ‘the big marriage’. I never had it as a goal.

She continued: “I thought, ‘Maybe I've got it all wrong and I should go for it. Maybe I should do what most of the world do. It works for them.’

“Now I’m going to stick to my previous view. I don’t think marriage is for me.”

Minogue admitted she had to rebuild her life after splitting from Sasse, but insisted the break-up helped her to ‘turn a corner’ and revaluate.

“You can’t negotiate the downfall of your relationship carefully,” she said. “I did have to rebuild myself, physically and mentally a bit.

“But no, 2017 was a great year. I loved it. I actually loved it. Because I knew where I stood. I knew what work I had to do and I did it. I know I turned a corner and learnt a lot about myself.”

She continued: “Sometimes it takes something like stepping out of your comfort zone, some drama like that, to shake things up.

“Now being on my own again and reclaiming myself and just asking myself harder questions like: ‘What do you really want, how did you get here, how do you feel, how are you going to move on?’ Now I have enough drama in my life.”
