Kylie Minogue has opened up about the impact of her split from ex-fiancé Joshua Sasse, saying that she's finally in a "good place".

Minogue, 49, split from the 30-year-old actor lin February 2017 after three years together, amid cheating rumours.

The pop princess revealed she is now in a “good place” and feeling ‘liberated’ from the heartbreak.

Asked by Today Extra’s Richard Wilkins if “life is good right now” she replied: “I try not to sound cheesy, but I am. I was not in a good place, I was in a place where I was kind of kidding myself.

“To be set free from that is so liberating. A little bit ‘tail between my legs’ at points.

“But I feel fortunate to be kind of racing, cantering, galloping towards 50 and feeling good about it.”

Minogue and Sasse met on the set of US TV show Galavant. They got engaged in February 2016 before announcing their split a year later.

Minogue recently described their engagement as an “experiment” and said she doesn’t think marriage has ever been her “goal”.

Speaking to Red magazine, she said: “I never thought I would get married. Just going through ‘being engaged’ seems like an experiment, because I’d never as a girl or in all my life had a vision of getting married.

“It’s not something I needed or wanted. My parents never brought me up with the idea of ‘the big marriage’. I never had it as a goal.”

She continued: “I thought, ‘Maybe I've got it all wrong and I should go for it. Maybe I should do what most of the world do. It works for them.’

“Now I’m going to stick to my previous view. I don’t think marriage is for me.”

Minogue admitted she had to rebuild her life after splitting from Sasse, but insisted the break-up helped her to ‘turn a corner’ and revaluate.
