Each night showcases original compositions by Seattle artists, and is curated by different peer groups within our local music community through a blind jury process from responses to a general call for submissions.

Bradley Bagshaw's debut novel, Georges Bank, follows a fisherman who works in icy conditions in a certain port city (Seattle), and his love affair with a "feisty woman" who used to own a brothel but doesn't anymore.

This annual summer festival promises live music, vendors, food, 4-H classes, and more.
39. Nearly Dan
Steely Dan were one of the smartest bands to consistently rack up platinum records. They got away with singing blisteringly acerbic lyrics and executing complex key changes and tricky time signatures while accruing crazy air time on commercial radio, back when that meant something. So a band dedicated to paying tribute to Steely Dan has to be sharper than your typical homage outfit. Nearly Dan’s 12 members (who’ve played with Ray Charles, the Four Tops, the Temptations, Gladys Knight, and, most importantly, Huey Lewis) are up to the task, interpreting the hits and deep cuts with a professionalism that would impress Donald Fagen and the late Walter Becker’s accountants. 53. The Alley Protest Party

Sequim, a city nestled in a "rain shadow" of the Olympics, receives about the same amount of rain each year as Los Angeles. We assume this is the reason its fields are particularly abundant with fragrant lavender in the summertime. Take a weekend to visit its farms and nurseries to reap the bounties of the purple plant.
57. Darrington Bluegrass Festival 2018
The Darrington Bluegrass Festival has been going strong for 42 years running, with a lineup of live bluegrass jams, food, booze, and vendor booths, all set against the natural backdrop of beautiful Darrington. This year's headliners include Dave Adkins, Band of Ruhks, Volume Five, Sister Sadie, and many others.
58. Seafair Indian Days Pow Wow
Join the United Tribes of All Indians in the 30th annual festival of music, dance, and food. Snack on some frybread, buy art from Native vendors, see the pow wow dancing, and join in during the Intertribal part of the festivities.
59. Vashon Island Strawberry Festival
Vashon Island will celebrate its 109th Strawberry Festival with a grand parade, a classic car show, live music, vendors, an "alternative carnival," a pancake breakfast, and more.
60. Forest Song
Mortal and mythical worlds collide when a forest nymph named Mavka falls in love with a human youth named Lukash, causing a dramatic clash between the forest's "carefree beauty" and the human world's jealousy-driven ethos. This English-language adaptation of the classic piece of Ukrainian literature includes mythological beings from Slavic folklore and an original score based on folk music from the Volyn region.
61. The Tempest
The Primrose Players will tackle Shakespeare's rather weird final play (that is, the last play he alone wrote, according to scholars). Prospero, the ruler of a conquered island, shipwrecks his enemies and leaves them at his mercy, but his distant, godlike judgment is challenged when his daughter falls for one of the prisoners.

Painters from the two US coasts—among others, Junko Yamamoto and Luke Armitstead—stretch the definitions of painting, exploring the margins of the art form.

We have absolutely no idea what this show will look like, but we know it involves dancers trying to blend burlesque and the absurd creations of neural network ("computer programs designed to learn how to do certain tasks by attempting them over and over and then having humans tell them if they're correct," which they frequently aren't) and it sounds hilarious.
88. Alki Beach Pride 2018- Come OUT and Float at the Beach!
Head to West Seattle for the fourth annual Alki Beach Pride party, where you'll find live entertainment from Louvel, LaRue, Thadayus, Izohnny, Lakin, and DeAndre Brackensick; free hot dogs and soft drinks while supplies last; and games and prizes. Plus, enjoy special margaritas at El Chupacabra, five-dollar hurricanes at B's Po Boy, an after-party at Alki Beach Pub, and more at nearby businesses.
89. Confront White Womanhood
Troubled by the role of women in white supremacy? So is Heather Marie Scholl, whose Whitework is a body of embroidery and text that interrogates white womanhood. The other part of this exhibition, The Self Portraits, features framed, embroidered pictures that evoke women's trauma and the experiences of femininity. In conjunction with the art show, there will be a "Confront White Womanhood" panel/performance with Sophie Ellman-Golan, Rhiannon Childs, and the artists.

Northwest-based Italian American artist Deto Brixen "explores the joys and perils of pursuing one's goals" through a combination of graffiti, "American tattooing," and 1980s-inspired action cartoons.

Artists from South Africa, Angola, Benin, and the United States depict the complexities of "labor, leadership, faith, and portraiture." For Bon Odori, or Obon, Japanese Buddhists commemorate their ancestors through ceremony and dance. Seattle's festival, officially part of Seafair, will line the street with food booths, showcase taiko drumming and martial arts, and provide arts and crafts demonstrations.

James Redford's Happening explores the economic and health benefits of a new clean energy era, highlighting an underlying story of "human resilience, social justice, embracing the future, and finding hope for our survival."
