For Second Year in A Row, Picktown Palooza To Take Place in Pickerington

Picktown Palooza will be back for a second year in Pickerington this summer, featuring entertainment and activities that will appeal to the entire family.

PICKERINGTON, OH, USA, April 18, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Pickerington, OH – Picktown Palooza, sponsored by IGS Energy, will be back for a second year in Pickerington this summer, featuring entertainment and activities that will appeal to the entire family. The four-day event will take place in Historic Downtown Pickerington located at the corner of N. Center Street and Town Square Drive, from Wednesday, July 11, through Saturday, July 14. Panger Productions, a non-profit comprised of a group of volunteers, will be planning the event. The Panger Productions Board is committed to producing another fantastic Picktown Palooza and providing exciting entertainment and family fun.

The board of Panger Productions is grateful for the support of the City of Pickerington, Violet Township, as well as all the organizations who have signed on to support the second Picktown Palooza.

Scott White, president and CEO of IGS Energy, said, “We’re excited to be the presenting sponsor of the Picktown Palooza. As a family-owned company with almost 30 years of experience serving central Ohio, we’re proud to support the areas where we live and work. We are looking forward to this great event again this year!”

Additional sponsorships are available to provide a valuable opportunity to create recognition and public exposure to thousands of visitors over the four-day celebration. Organizations interested in sponsorship opportunities should contact Chris Stein at 614-379-2099.

Highlights of this year’s event include:
• Musical Entertainment – NIGHT RANGER Friday, July 13; Acts will play various genres of music all four days.
• Kids’ Corner – Games and activities for children 12 years of age and younger. Sponsored by Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
• Freedom 5k and Kids’ Fun Run – Wednesday morning, July 4, winding its way through the Pickerington High School North XC course. Sponsored by OrthoNeuro.
• Car & Bike Show – Saturday July 14 at Epiphany Lutheran Church next to the Picktown Palooza grounds. Sponsored by AAA Ohio Auto Club.
• Carnival Rides – Rides for the young and young at heart throughout the midway.
• Beer Garden – Guests 21 years and over can enjoy a variety of wine as well as domestic and imported beer.
• Food Vendors – A variety of mouth-watering treats for all ages.

In addition to all the carnival rides, great food, national artists, local musicians, bands and overall fun at the Palooza, businesses will display their wares on the Business Showcase Row.

The City of Pickerington and Violet Township is enthusiastic and supportive of Picktown Palooza.

Pickerington Mayor Lee Gray said he’s “happy the Picktown Palooza is coming back for another year and this time on higher dryer ground. Even with last year’s adversity -- flooding and missing some days -- they were able to make it a success. I love this City and have called it home since I was a child. It is great to have an event to provide fun and entertainment right in downtown Pickerington.”

“I am excited to have the opportunity to support a community event that will bring neighbors together for a few days. The health of any community extends beyond freshly paved roads and safe drinking water. Community leaders should always be seeking opportunities to partner with those who are doing great things for our residents,” said Violet Township Trustee Melissa Wilde. “I am thrilled that so many people are willing to volunteer their time to create a memorable experience for the families in Pickerington.”

Admission to the Palooza will be $5 per person each day when purchased at the gate. Children 12 and under are free. Four-day discounted admission passes will be sold via the Picktown Palooza website https://www.picktownpalooza.org/ for just $10 per person. That’s a savings of $10.00 which is HALF PRICE. Single day admission passes also can be purchased via the website.

Another important aspect of the Palooza is the volunteers. Picktown Palooza will be working with area churches, non-profit organizations and other local groups to recruit volunteers. Groups interested in volunteering should contact the Palooza at 614-379-2099.
